Quadrupole and Corrector Magnets for HERA

The HERA-Collider in Hamburg accelerated electrons and protons in a 6.3-km-long ring to conduct collision experiments for researching the proton structure.
Quadrupole magnets are necessary for correcting the path of accelerated particles and for focussing the beam. Multipole corrector magnets allow additional finetuning to the path and focussing of the beams.
Babcock Noell conducted the assembly of 120 quadrupole magnets of different kinds and manufactured the relevant cryostats. In addition to that, 233 12-pole corrector coils (dodekapole) were wound, assembled and installed.
